RHCP

Michael Balzary (Flea), Hillel Slovakand and Jack Irons were some high school friends. They had some musical ambitions and together started a band called Anthom. They managed to score them selves a few gigs but many club owners hid the youngsters backstage in fear of getting charged with minors on the premises. Anthem even had regulars at the show including a man named Anthony kedis. The four who all attened Fairfax High School became friends and Anthony even began opening the bands shows with a few of his poems.

They renamed there band the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The band did there first out of town show in Aspen at the Cathay Grand Club. There most notorious performance however was at the Kit Kat Klub.

Red Hot Chili Peppers struggled through the ‘80s, but eventually became one of the most celebrated rock groups of the ‘90s and early 21st century. The band confronted tragedy, personnel changes and addiction, but their template of punk, funk and pop is as recognizable as any in contemporary rock. The band formed in the early ‘80s in Los Angeles, with Anthony Kiedis on vocals, Michael Balzary (later going by Flea) on bass, Hillel Slovak on guitar, and Jack Irons on drums. After initially calling themselves Tony Flow and the Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem, they changed their moniker to Red Hot Chili Peppers.

They've combined elements of funk, rock, blues, grunge, jazz, reggae, and rap. They should have their own music genre. The Peppers have a history, something that many bands these days lack. Since 1983 they've experience relationship problems, drug addictions, and the death of a band member.

Its greatest hit albums are Stadium Arcadium, By The Way, Californication, etc.................
